Didn't they 'do it' on their wedding night? Why was Mary a virgin when she was married to Joseph?
I'm pretty sure that she wasn't a virgin (well not that she existed..but I'll play along), but in one of the translations ';without sin'; was changed to ';virgin'; for some reason.
Which is why I don't understand why people put so much faith in the bible. The original accounts were 1) oral 2) metaphorical 3) interpreted different ways 4) translated different ways and 5) transcribed different ways. Why was Mary a virgin when she was married to Joseph?
She wasn't a virgin after being raped by (you know who) and then giving birth to (you know who).
That is an interesting concept: Rape a young girl, become the fetus to grow up to be extirpated and then bring yourself back to life. Then if people don't believe it, condemn the nasty non-believers to a forever torture of burning after they die. Also make the evil doers even IF they do believe suffer needlessly.
That is not make believe or a myth-- True story!
No, because she was heavily pregnant on the day they were married. It says specifically in the Bible that he had no relations with her until after the baby was born. The part that is amazing to me is that she rode a donkey or walked 60 miles while 9 mo pregnant! She was one tough lady!
It does not say anywhere that she was a virgin, but she was betrothed to Joseph meaning engaged to him, not married..She was fertilised by the angel who came to see her.
She was a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus. She had relations with her husband after Jesus' birth.
Her vejayjay was a one way street prior to our ';saviour'; traversing the holy canal... After this, Christians don't really care which way the traffic goes.
Before the wedding, a angel told Joseph about The baby, so he did not have sex with Mary till after JESUS was born.
Because they didn't have relations until after the birth of Jesus.
Most people knew Mary was a slut, Joseph was just naive.
Maybe Joseph was gay
The scripture says they had no union until after Jesus was born.
