Do you have to be married to adopt a child?

If you're single and have a good income, can you just adopt a kid or do you have to be married?Do you have to be married to adopt a child?
You can adopt if you are single. There are some foreign countries that won't allow you to adopt if you are single or under a certain age but for the most part, yes, you can adopt when you're single.
