Is it illeagal to represent yourself in writing that you are divorced when you are in fact you are married?

my husband likes to get on these russian love match or bride sites and he says he is divorced. I have tried to get back at him by doing the same thing here in the states like e harmony etc. but because we are still married I can't even look at my matches. They can check marital status registers .


So can some one please tell me the truth.Is it illeagal to represent yourself in writing that you are divorced when you are in fact you are married?
It is no illegal for you to represent yourself as being divorced, however the laws in here in the U.S. require that U.S. based sites (such as HARMONY) make certain that their participants are indeed divorced if they say they are and YES they can and do check. As far as the Russian sites, they are not U.S. sites so they are not under the laws and regulations of the U.S. It doesn't matter to them if the people on them are married, divorced etc. Plain and simple, here in the U.S. it is against the law to marry anyone unless you ARE legally divorced from your first spouse anyway. Would YOU want to be headed ';down the aisle'; only to find out the guy you were headed there with was married and that your marriage wouldn't be legal? Here is another little ';tidbit'; about those ';russian'; dating sites. Many of them are involved in kiddie porn as well as human trafficing...your husband is looking up women and girls who are basically ';For sale';.. If your husband is checking out women who are for sale (human trafficing) then yeah he is that bad. The selling of slaves is illegal here in the U.S. it is a FEDERAL offense. As I said before...nice guy you got there.

I think it is not illegal to merely say you are divorced when you are not, because the other person has the means to look up your status. That means the other person is not unjustly harmed because that person can take actions to prevent this deception.
OMG this is soooooooooooo stupid.





Instead of 'trying to get back at him'; why not put that energy into finding out WHY he is going there in the first place???





And no, it is not illegal to say you're divorced unless it is on something like taxes and legal/court issues.
Don't worry hon, you both continue acting like 13 yr s old children and sticking it to each other at every opportunity, you WILL be divorced before it is over with.Try dumping him and telling him you'll come home when the internet is gone.You'll see how much he loves you then.
